EPIC completely revised Michigan law regarding Estate Planning and Probate. The Michigan Trust code lays out Michigan law as to Trusts. EPIC allows for Pet Trusts, estate plans to include provisions for animals. Animal lovers have the ability to provide for the ongoing care for their pets.

By using a Trust to control assets for the benefit of their pet, Michigan residents can provide for the care of their pets with ongoing control after the owner’s death or incapacity. The Trustee is required to follow the intentions directed in the Trust. These provisions for animals are enforceable by law.

This law gives almost limitless options for caring for your pets after you are gone.
